School Counseling

The Cathedral Prep Guidance Department assists students in a caring and supportive environment as they develop into young adulthood. By helping students explore their strengths and challenges and plan for their post-secondary years, counselors empower students to explore and map their world. The Guidance Department works as a liaison between students, parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff to facilitate the success of each student.

The purpose of the Guidance Department is to support the educational/spiritual goals of the school by assisting students in understanding themselves and adjusting to the realities of life situations. Students must recognize that they have the responsibility for their own choices and actions.

The complete education program seeks to promote early college and higher education planning and preparation. This is done through the use of Naviance, group guidance presentations, individual meetings with students, and parent-guidance nights.
