This past weekend, Cathedral Prep Theatre presented the musical masterpiece, “Les Misérables: School Edition.” Over 60 Prep students participated in the show; onstage, backstage, in the technical booth, and in the orchestra. This was Prep Theatre’s final show of the 2025-2026 academic year. Following “All Shook Up” in the fall, “Treasure Island” in the winter, and our traveling grade school play, “A Christmas Carol,” right before Christmas, this show was the perfect way to round out an incredible and diverse season of theater. Leighton Leeds ’27 and Michael Corritore ’26 wonderfully took on the lead roles of Jean Valjean and Inspector Javert. Bella Speros ’26, Riley Hanlon ’26, Charlotte Przybylinski ’26, Lauren Proper ’26, Caden Clark ’26, Lillian Kilmer ’28, and Christian Mungarurire ’27 brought their large supporting lead roles to life, each bringing their incredible talents to the stage. Each of the many ensemble members took on a variety of roles throughout the show. The show was produced by Fr. Mike DeMartinis and directed and choreographed by Patty Corella-Weibel. The show was musically directed by Andrew Alesso and Patrick Rose and technically directed by Andy Boucher ’08. Gretchen Petrarca and Paul Snyder ’77 were back again designing and constructing the beautiful sets. Wendi Proper and Tanya Czarnecki were also back and hard at work in the costume room costuming the cast in over 150 costumes plus accessories. The cast and crew would like to thank everyone who helped make this show one that we will never forget and everyone who came out to support them. We all look forward to another year of theater starting in the fall and we want to thank our graduating seniors for sharing their talents with us over these past four years! We wish them the best as they move on to the next chapter of their lives. 🎭
