On Saturday, April 22, Outreach Club is hosting their second annual "Miles for Missions" event at Frontier Park. The event will be held rain or shine with a start time of 9:00 a.m. This is a 5k run/walk with all proceeds being split between USCRI Erie to benefit refugees in our community and the Make a Wish Foundation. While registrations will be accepted through the day of the event, signing up by Monday, April 3, will guarantee a t-shirt with the $25 registration. The event is open to all ages so it is a great family event with prizes being awarded to both the top male and female finisher as well as various age categories. • Varsity baseball won their season opener, 15-0, over St. Bernard's (CA) in the first game of the Wolves Classic in Arizona. Freshman Derick Friedman went the first four innings on the hill, yielding zero hits while striking out 11. Jason Fultz was 2-3 with a triple and three RBI. Luke Costello hit a solo homer and scored three times, while Dominic Gorchinsky drove in a pair. ⚾
• Boys varsity volleyball fell in straight sets to Mercyhurst Prep, 3-0. 🏐
On Tuesday, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion held a Women’s Leadership Forum during the activity period in honor of Women’s History Month. Raven Clark ’14VMA, Satellite Program Coordinator at the Jefferson Educational Society, moderated the forum, with panelists including Debbie Zatkiewicz Uht ’82VMA (President of PCMSI), Erin Kerner (Former Director, Client Events & Strategic Partnerships at Louis Vuitton/Entrepreneur), and Lisa Goddard McGuirk (Director of Athletics at Gannon University). They spoke on their life and workplace experiences, offered leadership advice, and discussed the current landscape for women in the workplace. #Prep #WomensHistoryMonth

TOMORROW, March 28, at 7:00 p.m., the music department is presenting a Pops Concert in the Student Life Center. Some of our music students will be performing solos and duets of popular music of the past few decades. Some of the songs will be covers of Beyoncé, Adele, John Legend, Jason Mraz, as well as pieces from music theatre. Not only will the Show Choir be performing, the newly created Acapella Choir will be performing their premier performance of Cyndi Lauper’s "Time After Time." There is no charge for this unique performance set as a jazz club/coffee house. There will be concessions available for purchase throughout the concert. #Prep #MVP🎤🎶
AFJROTC cadets joined cadets from local JROTC schools at the Joint Military Ball this past weekend. Over 300 local cadets were in attendance, and we were able to wish our seniors well in their future endeavors. #Prep #AFJROTC

• Softball opened their season in successful form by winning twice in three tries in Myrtle Beach, SC last weekend. The team opened with a 3-0 setback versus North Penn. In game two, the Ramblers beat Central Bucks East, 4-1. Camryn Chimera went 2-3 with a triple, double and an RBI. Emily Dudenhoeffer was 2-4, and Jenna Wagner drove in a pair. She also pitched a gem over seven innings, striking out 14 Central Bucks East hitters, while only allowing three hits and one earned run. Prep wrapped up their stay with a 7-6 come from behind victory over Moon Area. Dudenhoeffer (4-4, 2 doubles, three runs scored, RBI), Wagner (2-4, double, RBI) and Megan Kelly (2-3, double, run scored) had big days at the plate, while Emalie Thomas drove in a pair. Wagner picked up her second win of the season throwing all seven innings, striking out 10. 🥎

• Boys basketball fell to Exeter Township in the PIAA semifinals, 51-47. Amaree Pickens led the Ramblers with 16. In their final games in the orange and black, Jake Sambuchino and Semontae Lofton had 13 and 10, respectively. They closed out the season with a 24-4 record. 🏀
• LATE WEEKEND SCORE: Girls varsity lacrosse kicked off their season again Aquinas Academy. The Ramblers fell to the Crusaders, 11-8. Cate Noble led the scoring with five goals. Taylor Kruszewski scored a pair of goals, while Niagara Millen also scored. Allison Deiner had nine saves in goal. 🥍

The Ramblers led much of the way, including by 12 in the second half, but could not close it out. Lena Walz finished with 13 to lead the way, while Addie Biel had 11. 🏀

In preparation for reading “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” sophomores spent this week exploring the Globe Theater and Shakespeare’s London with a digital mystery game. Tasked with locating Shakespeare’s lost script, students followed a series of clues that introduced them to the different parts of the Globe Theater and locations in London. In fifth period, the winning team was Rob Socash ‘25, Brenna Landahl ‘25, Maja Wasielewski ’25 and Niagara Millen ‘25. In seventh period, Ava Hensler ‘25 and Nataly Herbstritt ‘25 were the winners. #Prep #English 🔍
