Members of Show Choir were at Dubois Area High School this past weekend for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Region II Chorus Festival. They were led by guest conductor Frank Bianchi from Baldwin Wallace University and Cleveland Orchestra Chorus. These 160 top musicians from Region II rehearsed and performed an amazing concert that concluded the festival. Theresa Ferraro ’27, Bella Speros ’26, Christian Mungarurire ’27, and Lincoln Laquidara ’27 prepared a folder of music for the auditions that began the festival. In these auditions, students from across all six regions in Pennsylvania auditioned for the top spots at the All-State level. Congratulations to all four of our singers, as well as our Music Director Mr. Alesso. All four placed in the top ten in their sections! In addition, Theresa Ferraro and Bella Speros placed high in their sections and secured their spot at the PMEA All-State level. Congratulations to these two on being two-time All-State musicians! Brother Ed Terrizzi finished right behind in second, while Michael Ferrare finished seventh overall. Ted and Ed are headed to Lewisburg for the PIAA Championship! 💦🏆

Faculty at Prep and Mother Teresa Academy had the opportunity to be on retreat together last Friday for moments of recharge. Led by Dr. Tim Hogan, psychologist/author/teacher, faculty and staff members had the opportunity to reflect on relationships through conversation and moments of reflection. The retreat helped dive further into our school year theme of “Be the Light,” and culminated in Mass with Fr. Ben as the celebrant. Our AFJROTC cadets were honored to provide the color guard for the PA Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Home Four Chaplains Ceremony, commemorating the bravery and selfless sacrifice of the Four Chaplains aboard the USAT Dorchester during World War II.
Participating in this solemn ceremony allowed our cadets to pay tribute to courage, unity, and faith in the face of adversity, while supporting our veterans and preserving an important piece of our nation’s history. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and remember alongside the community. #Prep

Yesterday was the first Junior Achievement class of the year. Michael Parsons ’08 of LPL Financial is leading students through the course, which will be teaching students about the stock market and practical real world financial skills. This experiential learning opportunity is helping prepare students to become financially intelligent and responsible.
