Cathedral Prep Athletics Roundup for Tuesday, November 1: • Congratulations to Boys Soccer! They captured the District 10 AAA Championship with their 10-0 win over Meadville. Noah Handzel had a hat trick. Dylan Danch and Max Johnson each scored a pair. Brandon Lin, Pau Barea Solves and Cam Dunbar rounded out the scoring. Ethan Baker and Tyler Chermack earned the combined shutout in goal. The victory was the Ramblers ninth straight title, and 34th overall. Congratulations to Coach Tojaga and the team! ⚽🏆

The 56th Annual Millcreek Art Show was held on October 25 at Asbury Barn. The show was open to students, adults and professionals. A showcase of all the art was open to the public on October 29 and 30. Congratulations to Emily Consiglio ’23, who won a first-place ribbon, third place ribbon and honorable mention for her artwork. We would like to thank Mike Doyle ‘00 for 15 years of service as our head water polo coach and 14 as the swim coach. He won 219 games in water polo while leading the Ramblers as the top team in the west during multiple seasons. In swimming, Doyle amassed an incredible record of 190-12. His teams won 14 Region & District 10 titles, finished second in the state twice while capturing state championships in 2019 & 2022. Good luck to Mike in his role as Athletic Director of the Erie Catholic School System. #RollRamblers

We would like to thank and congratulate the following coaches on their retirement: • Head Boys Golf Coach Jay Willow: In his 11 years at the helm, Coach Willow won 11 Region titles, seven District crowns and, in 2020, guided the Ramblers to their second-ever state championship. • Head Girls Golf Coach Dan Steen: Coach Steen guided Villa/Prep for 12 years, winning seven Region crowns and five District championships while taking home state titles in 2014 & 2015. Cathedral Prep Weekend Athletics Roundup: • Girls and boys cross country participated in the District 10 Championship this weekend. The girls rolled to winning the District 10 AA meet, winning by 71 points and scoring 22 overall. Sarah Clark won the race with a time of 18:47. Anne-Catherine Brown was 2nd, while Allison Bender took 3rd. Lauren Raimy finished 5th. Sarah Teed took 11th, while Helen Ann McCormick and Grace Barrett finished 14th and 19th, respectively. In the boys race, Luke Brown took the individual title, winning the AA boys race with a time of 15:45. The girls team and Luke are now headed to Hershey. Congratulations to all! 👟🏆 • Girls tennis took part in the state tournament at Hershey this weekend. The Ramblers defeated Lancaster Country Day in a thriller in the quarterfinals, 3-2. Anne Marie Prichard won in singles, while the tandems of Finleigh Handzel/Margaret Prichard and Sofia Falvo/Lilli Beuchert swept doubles. They would fall to Sewickley Academy in the semifinals, 4-0, and end their season. Congratulations to Coach Taylor and the Ramblers on a terrific season! 🎾 • Football swept their series against Canisius (NY). Varsity defeated the Crusaders, 40-6, on Senior Night. Dajoure Hollingsworth led the way with 135 yards on the ground and four touchdowns. Luke Costello connected with Camariyon Bridges for a scored. Carter Barnes also had a rushing touchdown. The Ramblers finish their regular season with an 8-2 record and will gear up for the AAAAA playoffs. JVs completed the sweep with a 46-20 victory. Jacob Koshan with the game of season on defense with four interceptions, including taking two of them back for scores. 🏈 • Boys water polo took part in the state tournament at Wilson High School. The Ramblers went 1-2 on the weekend. The initially fell to the hosts (16-7) and Governor Mifflin (13-10) before defeating Upper Dublin, 10-6, to finished 7th in the state. Congratulations to a pair of seniors. Aidan Levis was named 2nd Team All-State, while Mitchell Bradford was tabbed 3rd Team All-State. 🤽‍♂️

Cathedral Prep Athletics Roundup for Thursday, October 27: • Varsity girls soccer’s season came to an end in the District 10 quarterfinals against Harbor Creek, 1-0. ⚽ • Varsity girls volleyball fell to Warren, 3-0, in the first round of District 10 playoffs. Cecelia Campbell had 25 assists. Hailey Sliker finished with 15 digs. Kaylin Laird had 11 kills, while Nikole McLallen added nine. 🏐 • Varsity hockey fell to North Allegheny, 6-4. The Prep Theatre Department, under the direction of Fr. Mike Demartinis, is busy rehearsing for their first production of the school year. They will open their season on November 10 through the 13 with Stephen Sondheim’s sensational musical, Into the Woods! It’s an epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make. Over the weekend, some of the actors participated in a master class offered by Chicago born actress/director, Anna Carmela. Anna spent the day with these young stars diving deep in their character development. This is a beautiful show and we hope to see you there! #Prep #MVP 🎭

Congratulations to Jason Fultz ‘25. He has verbally committed to play Division I baseball at Clemson University on scholarship. As a freshman, Fultz hit .419 with four homeruns and 32 runs batted in. On the hill, he was 3-0 with a 1.45 ERA while striking out 34 in 19 plus innings. He projects as a corner infielder and possibly a pitcher at for the Tigers. #Prep #RollRamblers #StudentAthlete ⚾
