The Season of Lent has begun! We celebrated our weekly mass today in observance of Ash Wednesday with Fr. Mike DeMartinis and Fr. Jason Feigh in the Cathedral! The ashes come from blessed palms from Palm Sunday of the previous year to symbolize penance and repentance. May everyone have a blessed Lenten season! #MTA #Lent ✝

Third and fourth grade partnered up to work on Black History Month PowerPoint presentations! Students had to research, create a PowerPoint, and present it to both classes. It was third grades first time using PowerPoint, so fourth grade was able to teach their partner how it works! Ruby Bridges, Harriet Tubman, Barack Obama, and Serena Williams were just a few of the people our students chose to research. #MTA #BlackHistoryMonth

Today, our middle school students took a field trip to Flo Fabrizio Ice Center to learn how to ice skate! We might have started with more bodies down on the ice than skates, but students started to get the hang of it. For so many first timers, everyone did awesome! #MTA #FieldTripFun ⛸

Kindergarten had some shaving cream spelling fun in class today! They worked on practicing their “-am” word family spellings! #Kindergarten #Spelling 🔠

Saturday was the Feast of St. Blaise. Father Jason stopped by campus on Friday to give all our students a special throat blessing. Saint Blaise is the patron saint of diseases of the throat and sickness, so we pray for health amongst our school community! #MTA #Faith

Also on Friday, as a part of Catholic Schools Week, we celebrated our staff! We dressed like our favorite superheroes (some of us dressing like our favorite hero of our school). Students and teachers teamed up against each other for few rounds of volleyball. The teachers took on the middle school students and dominated! We had so much fun this Catholic Schools week and are grateful for the opportunities and community we have here at MTA. #MTA #Family 🏐

Middle school science classes used Legos today to construct self-standing football field goal posts. They then kicked field goals to figure out percentages. Mr. L also took a few shots, unfortunately all wide right! #MTA #ScienceStrong 🏈💪

Yesterday was community day on our campus! We had the amazing opportunity to have some of our local first responders visit us to join in games! Thank you all for visiting! #MTA #CSW2024

This week, first grade practiced reading with expression. They learned when to raise their voices and ask a question. Students then got into groups and participated in a reader's theater. They performed their plays for the class and received compliments from the other students! #MTA #FirstGrade #Reading 📖

Middle school scientists studied U.S. currency yesterday in class. Using their microscopes, they were able to explore all the anti-counterfeit measures our government uses: watermarks, 3D ribbon, and changing color ink just to name a few! #MTA #Science 💵🔬

When Mr. Ladouceur gives you a jeans day and jokes, “why don’t we just wear jean jackets too,” you fully commit! Today, staff are celebrating our awesome principal Mr. Ladouceur’s birthday answering that challenge by wearing jeans and jean jackets! Everyone showed up sporting our favorite pair of jeans and a matching jacket, with some even having extras to help their friends! Happy Birthday, Mr. Ladouceur! #MTA #Family 👖🎂

Fourth grade had the opportunity to investigate plant and animal adaptations in science class! After looking at examples of different adaptations, and discussing how they help organisms survive, students had the chance to apply what they learned. They were challenged to camouflage butterflies in the classroom to help protect them from predators. They worked hard and made creative choices when camouflaging their butterflies! Can you find all the butterflies? #MTA #Science 🦋

Today, and every day, we celebrate and honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. May we always strive to lift those around us up and unite instead of divide. Let us commit to leading by his example of leadership and love!
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'"- Martin Luther King, Jr. #MLKDay

First grade built a number line in Math class today! They used teamwork and problem-solving skills to write numbers 0-174! They then had to check to make sure all the numbers were written the right way and all accounted for. #MTA #Math 🔢

Our campus turned into Whoville today for Grinch day! Students, faculty and staff had the opportunity to wear their best Grinch gear and enjoy a day of fun and activities. We even had a surprise visit from the Grinch himself! #MTA #HolidayFun 💚
